Kelly Park and Rubin Fleischer Set to Direct ‘Non-Evil Twin’ and ‘St. Denis Medical’ Pilots for NBC

According to Deadline, NBC has just recruited Kelly Park (Alexa & Katie, Family Reunion) to direct the pilot episode of Non-Evil Twin and Rubin Fleischer (the Venom duology, the Zombieland duology) to lead the pilot for St. Denis Medical. Both pilots will be produced by Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

As Deadline reports, Non-Evil Twin is written by and stars Amber Ruffin (The Amber Ruffin Show, Central Park), who will be making her debut as a series lead alongside her fellow writing partner Jenny Hagel (Late Night with Seth Meyers, Impractical Jokers). The show is co-written by Kenny Smith (The Game, Black-ish), who serves as an executive producer alongside Ruffin and Hagel. Olivia Morris (RRR, Hotel Portofino) and Jason Carden (Mapleworth Murders, The To-Do List) will also work on the project as co-executive producers.

Non-Evil Twin is a multi-camera pilot which features Ruffin as a woman who is pushed to step in for her sister as the head of a Fortune 500 company in spite of the fact that she knows next to nothing about business or how her sister even managed to run such a high-maintenance company in the first place. Ruffin and Hagel are signed to Universal Television for an overall deal for the pilot.

On the other hand, St. Denis Medical is a half-hour workplace mockumentary comedy series from the acerbic writing duo of Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin (Superstore, American Auto), who also have an overall deal with Universal Television. The show revolves around an unsupported and understaffed Oregon hospital where the devoted doctors, nurses, and staff members struggle to treat their patients the best that they can while also holding onto the little sanity they still have left.

Park is repped by CAA and Gan, Tyre, Ramer, Brown, & Passman while Fleischer is represented by CAA and Sloane Offer.
