TVLine reports that Jenna Elman has been cast on the new show Growing Up Fisher.
This comedy, originally titled the Family Guide, follows Mel Fisher (played by J.K Simmons), a blind lawyer (complete with guide dog) whose divorce from Joyce winds up bringing the family together. Ava Deluca-Verley plays Katie, Mel and Joyce’s teen daughter and Eli Baker stars as Henry, their 11-year-old son.
Jenna Elfman will play Mel’s ex-wife, Joyce Fisher. She will be replacing Parker Posey, who played the role of Joyce in the pilot.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Arrested Development‘s Jason Bateman provides the voice-over for Growing Up Fisher. Friends star David Schwimmer directed the pilot.
Growing Up Fisher is scheduled to debut on NBC midseason.
