Disney+ is delivering the blueprints to The Mandalorian with “The Making of Season 3,” a special that ventures behind the scenes of the third season according to Deadline. In 2020, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian premiered as an eight-part docuseries showcasing practical effects, directing, and footage of the cast from the first live-action Star Wars series. The “Making of Season 3” will stream on June 28th on Disney+.
Now that Grogu and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal, Game of Thrones, Kingsman: The Golden Circle) have reunited in The Book of Boba Fett, Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will now follow the duo to Mandalore so that Din can atone for taking off his helmet in the second season finale. Din and Grogu will be cruising through the galaxy with Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff, Battlestar Galactica, Halloween: Resurrection), who wants to reunite the Mandalorian tribes to revive Mandalore. Imperial Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito, Breaking Bad, The Jungle Book) resurfaces as the shepherd to the Great Purge of Mandalore, a scourge that exterminated almost all Mandalorians in a plot left to swell from the first season.
Jon Favreau (Iron Man, Avengers: Endgame), showrunner and creator of The Mandalorian, confirmed that Grogu and Din would be back for fourth season which was written before the big bang of the WGA writer’s strike stopped production of movies and TV shows. “Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already,” Favreau told BFM TV. “We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production [on season 3]. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”
He then talked about Ashoka and Skeleton Crew, spin-offs from The Mandalorian, saying, “[Dave’s] doing Ahsoka, which I’m producing with him. He’s the writer and showrunner on that. To understand what’s happening on other shows…. Skeleton Crew all take place within the same Star Wars time period. There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian, as well.”
Binge eating season three of the Star Wars series The Mandalorian is now possible since all eight episodes are available to stream on Disney+. Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian – “The Making of Season 3” premieres June 28th.
