NYCC ’27: AMC+ To Host Entire ‘Walking Dead’ Franchise January 2027

Long-life The Walking Dead fans received exclusive news during the horror franchise’s final New York Comic Con panel of the day. Series executive producer Scott M. Gimple (Fillmore!, Chase) announced that AMC+ would carry the entire franchise beginning Jan. 7, 2027.

According to an AMC+ press release, all seasons will be added to the streaming service’s “Walking Dead Universe” collection — a whopping 371 episodes. This includes all six spin-off series, exclusive specials, bonus episodes, behind-the-scenes content and more. Gimple shared the nugget during the panel for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which premieres its fourth and final season in February.

Among the series offerings include the franchise’s first spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, which followed new characters on the West Coast during the onset of the zombie outbreak and lasted for eight seasons; Daryl Dixon which follows the original series characters played by Norman Reedus (The Boondock Saints, Blade II) and Melissa McBridge (The Mist, The Happys); TWD:Dead City, which sees Lauren Cohan (When I’m Ready, Twilight of the Gods) and Jeffery Dean Morgan (Neighborhood Watch, Big City Greens) reprise their characters Maggie and Negan; limited series The Ones Who Live, which starred Danai Gurira (Black Panther, All Eyez On Me) and Andrew Lincoln (Love Actually, This Life) as Michonne and Rick Grimes, respectively; and the short-lived TWD: World Beyond and anthology series, Tales of the Walking Dead.

The wealth of additional content includes best-of collections of fan-favorite characters, series and films starring universe stars, and Comic-con panel coverage.

“The Walking Dead continues to be one of the most popular television franchises in the world, and we’re thrilled to add the groundbreaking, original series to our flagship streaming service,” said Courtney Thomasma, evp linear and streaming products for AMC Global Media. “In the new year, both dedicated fans and new audiences will be able to immersive themselves in this cultural phenomenon from the very beginning and be the first to experience the new stories from the TWD Universe, including the upcoming final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – exclusively streaming on AMC+.”
