Apple TV+’s ‘Central Park’ Renewed for Season Three

Although season two of Central Park is not set to premiere on Apple TV+ until June 25, fans of the animated musical comedy series have plenty to be excited about. The streaming platform has announced that the series has already been renewed for a third season, via Deadline.

Central Park co-creator Loren Bouchard (writer, Bob’s Burgers) announced the early renewal on Twitter.

Centered around the iconic New York park, Central Park follows the Tillerman family who live in the groundskeeper’s house within the park’s property. Voiced by Leslie Odom Jr. (One Night in Miami), Owen Tillerman struggles to maintain the park he loves so dearly while also being a devoted father and husband to his two children, Molly (voiced by Emmy Raver-Lampman, The Umbrella Academy) and Cole (voiced by Tituss Burgess, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and wife, Paige (voiced by Kathryn Hahn, WandaVision).

Season two is set to follow the family as Molly and Cole face the challenges of growing up, Paige tries to get to the bottom of the rumors surrounding the city government’s corruption, and Bitsy (voiced by Stanley Tucci, Supernova) continues her quest to purchase all of Central Park for herself, via Deadline. It was announced last summer that Molly, biracial character, would no longer be voiced by Kristen Bell (The Good Place) and the role would instead be given to Raver-Lampman in an effort to achieve more inclusive representation on the show.

Along with Buchard’s announcement of season three, a video was released on the official Apple TV YouTube channel to celebrate the announcement of the season two premiere date. The video is showcases a brand new song featuring Daveed Diggs (Hamilton) as Helen.

Central Park is co-created by Bouchard, Nora Smith (producer, Bob’s Burgers), and Josh Gad (Frozen) who voices the series’ narrator, Birdie. All three co-creators are executive producers on the series alongside Halsted Sullivan (producer, The Office), Sanjay Shah (producer, Fresh Off the Boat) and Janelle Momary-Neely (producer, Bob’s Burgers).

Season two of Central Park will be streaming on Apple TV+ starting June 25 with new episodes releasing every Friday.
