Warner Bros. Launching DC Digital Service With ‘Titans’ and ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’

Warner Bros. is expanding its DC brand into a full-blown digital service.

Deadline reports that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are launching a DC-focused digital platform that is designed to create an experience that includes fan interaction, comic books, and TV shows. Set to debut in 2018, the service will feature two original DC series: Titans, a live-action series from Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter, and Young Justice: Outsiders, a revival/third season of the cult Cartoon Network series Young Justice.

Titans follows the adventures of a group of young heroes from all over the DC Universe including characters like Robin, Raven and Cyborg. The lineup for both Cartoon Network animated series Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go! featured Robin, Starfire, Cyborg, Raven, and Beast Boy, though there is no telling what the lineup for this new series will be. Throughout its long run the team of the Teen Titans comics has included heroes like Kid Flash, Aqualad and Wonder Girl, so there’s a chance one of them could take up a slot on the new line-up. Goldsman, Johns and Berlanti wrote Titans and executive produce with Schechter.

Young Justice: Outsiders (or Young Justice season 3) will see the Young Justice team of teenage superheroes tackling meta-human trafficking in as grand scale genetic arms race is taking place. Young Justice creators Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman are back on board along with art director Phil Bourassa. Young Justice originally aired on Cartoon Network for two seasons to critical praise, but low viewership. Bousassa won a primetime Emmy in 2011 for Individual Achievement in Animation for his work on the episode “Independence Day”. Vietti and Weisman executive produce the series with Sam Register.
