Vin Diesel Announces New ‘Fast & Furious’ Series In Development At Peacock

Deadline reports that the street racing franchise Fast & Furious is expanding with four new series being developed at Peacock. Vin Diesel (Guardians of the Galaxy, Ark: The Animated Series) made big news at the NBCUniversal Upfront on Monday. The first series on the list will be in the works at the NBCU streamer, from Universal Television, and comes from Mike Daniels (Shades of Blue, Sons of Anarchy) and Wolfe Coleman (The Block Island, The Village).

According to Deadline, the other three projects also in development are being written by Nick Wootton (Golden Boy, The Endgame) and Charmaine DeGraté (House of the Dragon, The Acolyte), Ingrid Escajeda (Silo, Griselda) and Joe Henderson (White Collar, World Trade Center). These writers have been working on different scripts that are in the works for Peacock and all hail from studio Universal Television. The streamer will be evaluating each series before making its decision to air it. This means not all four series would be picked up if they don’t like the projects. There are no details about the four series, but clearly all exist in the world of the action franchise, which features street racing, heists, spies and even space.

“As you all know, we are very precious about these movies but over the last decade, we’ve realized that the fans have wanted more, they wanted us to expand the legacy characters, their stories,” Diesel said at the Upfront via Deadline. “And for the last decade, the desire has been for us to enter the TV space.”

As per Deadline, Diesel explained that he came to the idea after Universal Studios chief Donna Langley also took oversight of NBCUniversal’s TV operation last year.

“That’s when I knew that the integrity of the characters, the international appeal, what makes us all feel like family, will be protected in the TV space,” he added via Deadline.

The news of the series comes before the next film in the franchise , Fast Forever, which comes out on March 17, 2028.
