‘Tulsa King’ Spinoff Series ‘Frisco King’ Wraps Filming Ahead Of Schedule

Fans of the series Tulsa King will be thrilled to hear that Taylor Sheridan’s (Marshals, Landman) Frisco King has wrapped with filming ahead of schedule, according to ScreenRant. The spinoff series will expand upon the Tulsa King universe with the ex-con Russell Lee Washington Jr. taking center stage.

For those who don’t know, Frisco King is a series that was ordered by Paramount+ back in February 2026. Originally titled NOLA King, the series follows character named Russell Lee Washington Jr., a New York mob enforcer who refuses to kill Dwight “The General” Manfredi despite being ordered to do so. After disobeying a direct order, he leaves New York, where he will go out of his way to create a new criminal empire in Frisco, Texas. According to ScreenRant, the first season of the series will consist of eight episodes, each penned by Sheridan himself. Sheridan will continue the trend of setting many of his series in Texas and its surrounding regions. The series was originally set in New Orleans under showrunner Dave Erickson (Mayor of Kingstown, Shantaram) but was later shifted to North Texas to fit Sheridan’s regional production base.

News of production’s completion was found on Instagram, with director Ronnie D. Johnson Jr. and artist Cat Lane both sharing photos from set.

The cast consists of Isabella Ecklund (Frisco King, The Last Thing He Told Me), Cosette Abinante (General Hospital, The Rookie: Feds), Jake Elliot Slaughter (Euphoria, When the Moon Hides Her Crown), Joie Rettig (Frisco King, We Bake at Dawn), Peter Onorati (Tracker, S.W.A.T.), Jobie James (72 Hours, Atonement), John W. Heath (A Night to Remember, Midnight Stop), Brendan McCarthy (Grotesquerie, A Gunman’s Hand), Madison Kuhns (Frisco King, Real Stories with Christ), Vini Hedglen (Lioness, Blood Hunter: Thirst and Rage), Shakei Brown (Immortality, Minsky), Marcy York (Frisco King, The Great Turkey Town Miracle), Tom Pecinka (Bloat, American Rust), Francis Nouvi (Easy’s Waltz, Audrey in Full Bloom), Brant Brantley (Frisco King, The Summer I Turned Pretty), Kyle Promisco (Dutton Ranch, The Madison), Sylvester Stallone (Tulsa King, Alarum), Samuel L. Jackson (Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: an Almost History of America, The Boys), Kai Caster (Spider-Noir, Do Not Enter), Asa Germann (Scream 7, Gen V), Lilah Pate (Driver’s Ed, The Runarounds), Savanna Gann (See You When I See You, His & Hers), Gordon Butler (Pillow Armor, The Huntsman), Dan Hawkins (Frisco King, Naked as Created: The Pastor Jim Moore Story), and Eric Doe (The Summer My Heart Stopped, The Madison).

The series is set to premiere next year on Paramount+. In the meantime, you can check Tulsa King on Paramount+ in order to prepare yourself for the spinoff series when it comes out.
