The Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Landman) television universe is staking a brand-new claim with a new series dubbed Frisco King, which will head to the Lonestar State and add some major reinforcements to the growing roster. According to Deadline, the story plot that the series will follow has not be disclosed, but what we do know is audiences will see the return of Russell Lee Washington Jr., played by Samuel L. Jackson (The Marvels, Kingsman: The Secret Service), who was first introduced back in the third season of Tulsa King.
Reported by Deadline, the other names that will be joining Jackson will be Tom Pecinka (American Rust, Bloat),who will be playing Ryland. At first glance, Ryland seems to be a professional business man, but underneath the suit hides a total party animal. This role marks a reunion between Pecinka and Jackson, who once starred together in the in the 2023 dark comedy feature The Kill Room.
Sharing the newly announced spotlight is Arturo Del Puerto (CHiPs, Camping), who will play Hector, a intelligent and diligent landscaper that has a project in Frisco, TX, and will surely be a focal point in the approaching series. Stated by Deadline, other cast members that have already been announced for the series will include Asa Germann (Scream 7, Gen V), Kai Caster (Shameless, Spider-Noir) and Savanna Gann (The Family Plan, His & Hers).
Stated by Deadline, the series will be produced by the combined efforts of Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, and will have Sheridan as one of the executive producers. Currently in production in Fort Worth, the highly anticipated freshman series is rumored to consist of eight episodes. Fans can expect the show to deliver a seamless genre mashup, brilliantly blending gritty mobster drama with classic Western tropes.
If Frisco King makes a big impact upon its release, it will surely be among Paramount’s most renowned titles in its ever-growing library, alongside other hits like Evil or Ghosts.
