Tom Hardy Will Return for Peaky Blinders Series 3

BBC Two’s post-WWI crime drama, Peaky Blinders, has confirmed Tom Hardy’s return to the cast for its third series, reportedly set to air in late 2015.

Hardy joined the cast of the hit period drama for its second series, which premiered last November. He stars alongside Cillian Murphy, Sam Neill, and Helen McCrory as members of a British crime family and their adversaries in 1920s England. The show, created by Steven Knight, follows the escapades of the group –  the titular “Peaky Blinders” gang – as they attempt to smuggle, steal, and carry on with their criminal ways under the nose of a bloodthirsty detective commissioned to stop them at all costs (Neill).

Peaky Blinders has already amassed quite the following over its two-year run. Fans of typically “British” shows – think Sherlock, Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, and Orphan Black – may find that Peaky Blinders is just their cup of tea. Series 3 is poised to offer the same balance of mystique, drama, and action which made Peaky Blinders’ first two series so scintillating; throw Tom Hardy into the mix again, and it’s all but irresistible.
