‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Renewed for an Additional 4 Years

The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been on the air since 2003 and has since featured an array of guests from pop stars Selena Gomez, Nicki Minaj, and Sia to political figures Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.

The show also engages viewers with random activities like when we watched Ellen play the “never have I ever” game with Madonna, JLO, One Direction, and Justin Bieber. The Ellen DeGeneres Show has also surprised some very deserving individuals including a heroic teacher, an inspirational waitress, and a military family.

Now longtime fans of the top-rated talk show will be pleased to know that the series will be sticking around for years to come. According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Ellen DeGeneres Show has been renewed by the NBC Owned TV Stations under a deal with Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution until summer 2020.

The popular show has consistently performed well in ratings across the NBC stations and tends to appeal to women ages 25-54. Valari Staab, the President of NBCUni’s owned stations stated that “For more than a decade, Ellen has anchored the daytime lineups of the NBC-owned stations, offering our viewers a great afternoon show, delivering a strong lead in for our early evening newscasts and helping to launch new hits.” Staab also went on to say that “We’re proud of our partnership with Ellen, her fabulous team and our friends at Warner Bros., and we are thrilled to extend our relationship with them.”

Ken Werner, the President of Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution commented on what makes The Ellen DeGeneres Show so successful. Werner said “Day in and day out Ellen delivers the best show on television. Ellen and her team produce a completely unique and exciting hour, which is appointment television for viewers everywhere.”
