New David Letterman Special Will Throw Back to His NBC ‘Late Night’ Debut

A 90 minute David Letterman special, hosted by Ray Romano, will throw back to Letterman’s debut on Late Night. 

The special will air Monday on CBS. It will date back to Letterman’s first appearance on the very first late-night show on NBC in 1982.

Below is a Late Night clip featuring Bill Murray. Many surprises will be unveiled in the 90 minute special. The shows’ best Top 10 lists, “Stupid Pet Tricks” segments, funny interviews, emotional interviews, and Drew Barrymore dancing on his desk, flashing a stunned Letterman will be featured on the special.

“If you have children, you should wake them up,” says host Ray Romano.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Letterman will say his goodbyes on May 20 after serving 22 years as Late Night host. Letterman was the host of NBC’s Late Night show for 11 years before moving to CBS in 1993.

David Letterman: A Life on Television will premiere on Monday at 9:30 p.m. on CBS.
