NBC To Release Medical Drama Entitled ‘Transplant’

In May, NBC initially acquired the Canadian medical drama Transplant and has just recently announced the premiere date, as September 1 at 8pm PST on NBC, according to VarietyNBC, ABC, and CBS have implied that they have plans to bring back most of their scripted original series, regardless of the fact that the coronavirus pandemic is still on the rise, which has been halting TV and film production.

Transplant follows Dr. Bashir “Bash” Hamed, played by Hamza Haq (Run This Town, The Indian Detective), as he flees his home country of Syria with his sister Amira, played by Sirena Gulamgaus (Winter, Hellmington), as they attempt to rebuild their lives in Canada and specifically, Bash attempts to rebuild his career in medicine.

Alongside Haq and Gulamgaus, the series also stars Laurence Leboeuf (Turbo Kid, La Petite Raine), John Hannah (The Mummy, Sliding Doors), and Ayisha Issa (Brick Mansiona, The Hummingbird Project). The series hails from the minds of Joseph Kay (Living in your Car), Jocelyn Deschenes (Rumeurs), Bruno Dube (Flashwood, Lilly the Witch), and Tara Woodbury (The Colony, Night Raiders).

Other medical dramas airing on NBC include New Amsterdam and Chicago MedTransplant will be available to watch on NBC on September 1 with a 13 episode first season.
