Louis C.K. To Host April 8th ‘SNL’

Louis C.K. has been tapped as the next host for Saturday Night Live.

Deadline reports that C.K. will host the next new episode of SNL, which is set to premiere on April 8th. The Chainsmokers are set as the musical guest.

NBC announced the line-up on Twitter and during the most recent, Scarlet Johansson-hosted episode. The timing of C.K.’s hosting gig suggests he will be promoting his Netflix stand-up special 2017, which will premiere on April 4th. Along with the special C.K. is currently a producer on Amazon’s One Mississippi, has an upcoming TBS animated series with Albert Brooks called The Cops, and he co-created FX comedies Better Things and Baskets (which was just renewed for third season).

There will no doubt be political sketches featured throughout C.K.’s episode of SNL, though it remains to be seen if Alec Baldwin will still be portraying Trump at that point. In recent interview Baldwin suggested he was getting tired of doing the impression and was considering giving it up soon.
