‘Harley Quinn’ Will Continue Under DC Studios

According to ComicBook, recently DC Studios announced large number of new projects under the new merger with co-CEOs James Gunn (Peacemaker) and Peter Safran (Shazam!). Under this new merger, many shows have recently been canceled such as Titans, and Doom Patrol but this will not be the case for the animated series Harley Quinn as Gunn and Safran shared the news on the series. During press event, they were asked what is to happen to the HBO Max animated series that is so beloved by many fans.

Gunn stated, “We’re going to keep forward with that.” Safran then noted that the show is in fact, “fantastic”, which to this Gunn added, “Yeah, considering I’m on the show.”

The adventures of one of DC’s fan-favorite clowns was renewed for a fourth season back in August of 2022, according to ComicBook. Although this was the case, the recent merger made fans worried as many shows were being canceled despite airing new seasons. It seems like Harley will continue to go on more chaotic adventures.

HBO Max, Senior Vice President of Comedy and Animation, Billy Wee (The Goldbergs) stated, “Patrick Schumacker (Abbott Elementary), Justin Halpern (iZombie) and their incredible team of artists and writers have created something so explosively funny and original, and we are thrilled to continue this journey with them and the show’s legion of fans. It has been amazing to watch the show grow and evolve this season and we could not ask for a more talented and dedicated team of collaborators.”

“Three seasons down and I can’t even begin to think about the new levels of chaos and trouble that Harley, Ivy, and the gang can get into with a fourth season. But I’m grateful to our partners at HBO Max for continuing this insane ride with us so we can all find out.” stated Executive Vice President, Alternative Programming, Warner Bros. Animation, Peter Girardi (Velma).

Although there is no official premiere date for Harley Quinn season four, fans can catch the show’s ‘’A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special’’ episode on February 9.

More series to come from DC Studios include Waller, Lanterns, Booster Gold, and Creature Commandos.
