Benedict Cumberbatch Set to Host November 5 ‘SNL’

It looks like the Sorcerer Supreme is heading to Saturday Night Live.

Deadline reports Benedict Cumberbatch will host the November 5th episode of SNL to promote his new Marvel film Doctor Strange. Solange Knowles is set as the musical guest.

SNL has had a rough go of it the last few years, though this season the show seems to be making a comeback. It was a rocky start when the show lost longtime and beloved cast members Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah, and the show had lot of work to do after coming off one of its lowest rated seasons to date.

With its 42nd season SNL has shown that it can still bounce back and offer hilarious sketches even after being in such a slump. This season has brought the series its best ratings in years, in no small part thanks to the election. Kate McKinnon’s Clinton and Alec Baldwin’s Trump have been a godsend for the show. So far this season has seen Margot Robbie, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Emily Blunt, and Tom Hanks take over hosting duties. On the music side of things the show has brought on The Weeknd, Twenty One Pilots, Bruno Mars, and Lady Gaga.

SNL will be off this Saturday for Halloween weekend.
