‘X-Men ’97’ Series Premiere Date Revealed By Disney

Per a Disney press release, Marvel Animation‘s X-Men ’97 is being released March 20th on Disney+. The ten episode series is slated to be a revival of the ’90s animated series.

The release date for the series was initially 2023 but was postponed due to the writers and actors strike.

Per the Disney logline, “X-Men ’97 revisits the iconic era of the 1990s as The X-Men, a band of mutants who use their uncanny gifts to protect a world that hates and fears them, are challenged like never before, forced to face a dangerous and unexpected new future.”

Per the Disney logline, the voice cast consist of George Buza (X-Men: The Animated Series, Maniac Mansion) as Beast, Ray Chase (Licorice Pizza, Final Fantasy XV) as Cyclops, Holly Chou (The Big Sick, Blue Eye Samurai) as Jubilee, Cal Dodd (X-Men: The Animated Series, Spider-Man: The Animated Series) as Wolverine, Jennifer Hale (Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Ralph Breaks the Internet) as Jean Grey, Adrian Hough (Home Before Dark, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Nightcrawler, JP Karliak (The Boss Baby: Back in BusinessNew Looney Tunes) as Morph, AJ LoCascio (Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai) as Gambit, Isaac Robinson-Smith (What If…?This Is Us) as Bishop, Alison Sealy-Smith (X-Men: Mutant Academy 2, Loser) as Storm, Matthew Waterson (Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Fallout 4) as Magneto and Lenore Zann (X-Men: The Animated Series, Personally Yours) as Rogue.

The series is led by head writer Beau DeMayo (Star Trek: Strange New WorldsThe Witcher) with Jake Castorena (Reign of the Supermen, Batman Unlimited), Chase Conley (Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts, Major Lazer) and Emi Yonemura (Gen: Lock, Onyx Equinox) directing episodes. The series is executive produced by Victoria Alonso (Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man), DeMayo, Louis D’Esposito (Captain America: The First Avenger, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3), Kevin Feige (Black PantherSpider-Man: No Way Home) and Brad Winderbaum (Satacracy 88, Thor: Ragnarok).
