‘Welcome to Sweden’ Coming to NBC

The Hollywood Reporter learns that NBC acquired the rights to the Greg Poehler created show.

Greg Poehler, brother of NBC’s Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler, will write, produce and star in the upcoming half-hour comedy based on his personal life. It will center around Bruce (Poehler), a New York City lawyer who falls in love with a Swedish woman, Emma (Josephine Bornebusch), and follows her when she decides to move back home. Amy Poehler will also serve as an executive producer.

Welcome to Sweden was originally commissioned by Sweden to premiere on Swedish channel TV4 as the country’s first English language series. The show will film primarily in Stockholm and feature a largely Swedish cast. Guest star cameos will be aplenty though with Will Ferrell, Aubrey Plaza and Gene Simmons of KISS already confirmed.
