‘Walking Dead’ Actress Shannon Richardson Arrested, Accused of sending Ricin letters to President Obama

Shannon Richardson has been arrested and charged with “mailing a threatening communication to the President of the United States,” as announced by the Hollywood Reporter.

Richardson, arrested in Arkansas on Friday, may have some connection with the letters containing ricin that were mailed to President Obama, Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York City, and a Washington, D.C. gun control advocate Mark Glaze in May.

The letter written to Mayor Bloomberg read, “You will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns… Anyone who wants to come to my house will get shot in the face. The right to bear arms is my constitutional God given right and I will exercise that right till the day I die,” as reported by NBC News.

Richardson had originally claimed her husband was the culprit behind the threatening letters, having called the FBI herself to make the confession. NBC News also reported the truth was found when investigators examined the evidence.

The accused actress has appeared in minor roles on several television shows including the Walking Dead and the Vampire Diaries.

The Hollywood Reporter has said if Richardson is convicted of the crime she could be facing up to 10 years in federal prison.
