Ving Rhames (Pulp Fiction, Holiday Heart) is the lead star of the BET+ original series Legacy, which is a three-episode series. This series debuts March 2, 2023, exclusively on BET+, according to a Deadline Exclusive.
Legacy shares the story of Guy Simmons, the notorious mobster who owns the streets, according to VIBE. As the mobster battles for his life, a sibling feud sparks that could imperil the mobster’s legacy and criminal establishment.
Simmons is the patriarch of the family. The Simmons family is the ruling crime family in the southern underworld, according to Deadline.
Via Deadline, Legacy follows Simmons creating a legacy he wants to hand on to his two sons, Kevin and Tysean. Simmons’s promiscuous habits have overbrimmed and imperiled all he’s strived for. The mothers of his sons greatly disdain one another. As a result of Guy’s shooting, a new brotherly beef has erupted; a beef which could have fatal repercussions, especially when there is an enemy within the family.
Also starring in this series is LisaRaye (The Player’s Club, All of Us), A.J. Johnson (Baby Boy, House Party), and Clifton Powell (Next Friday, Ray), according to VIBE.
Legacy was created by Manny Halley (Imani, A Holiday Chance) and written and executive produced by Halley and Yolanda Halley (Angel, Imani), who both serve as producers along with Denee Busby Howard (The Cookout, Dirty South) and Rodney Turner II (Dutch, Imani).
