Trailer Released For New Season Of ‘Doctor Who’

According to a press release from Disney+, there has been a new trailer for the upcoming Doctor Who season released. The trailer gave an exclusive look at a new character, the Dutchess, who will be played by Indira Varma (Game of Thrones). The season will be released on Disney+ on May 10th, 7pm EDT in America and on BBC on May 11th in the UK. 

The press release revealed the news that this season will show the brand new Doctor as well as his companion Ruby Sunday. Throughout the season, they will use the TARDIS to dance through the 60s, enjoy Regency era England, attempt to save war-ravaged futures, and more. The season will also see a guest appearance from Callie Cook (Henpocalypse). 

The press release cited the synopsis for the season, saying, “The Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday travel across time and space, with adventures all the way from the Regency era in England, to war-torn future worlds.  Throughout their adventures in the TARDIS — a time-traveling ship shaped like a police box — they encounter incredible friends and dangerous foes, including a terrifying bogeyman, and the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.”

The main cast includes Ncuti Gatwa (Sex Education) and Millie Gibson (Jamie Johnson), said the press release. Additional cast members seen in the trailer include Anita Dobson (The Long Call), Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper), Michelle Greenidge (Mandy), Bonnie Langford (Just William), Jinkx Monsoon (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Jemma Redgrave (The Beekeeper), Lenny Rush (Dodger) and Angela Wynter (Vampire Academy).

The showrunner, said the press release, is Russell T Davies shi also serves as executive producer and writer. Additional executive producers include Phil Collinson, Joel Collins, Julie Gardner and Jane Tranter.

New episodes of the season will drop on Fridays on Disney+ in the U.S., but will be available on BBC for British viewers on Saturdays.
