The CW Gives All Freshman Show Full-Season Pick Up

According to Deadline, the network has ordered a full season of The OriginalsReign and The Tomorrow People, its three newest fall dramas.

The Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, has been the strongest new show this season, especially since it started airing during its now permanent Tuesday slot. Its ratings have averaged around 2 million viewers every week and have been pretty similar to Supernatural‘s, which have been relatively high.

The Tomorrow People, which also hails from TVD‘s creator Julie Plec and Arrow‘s Greg Berlanti, debuted very strongly with 2.3 million viewers and has been gathering a steady audience of 1.6 million with 0.6 rating.

Finally, the historical drama Reign has had the softest debut of the three, with 1.8 million viewers, but has been managing to grasp roughly that same amount of publicity in the episodes that followed. Additionally, the show has been gaining younger viewers each week.

“We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season,” said Mark Pedowitz, The CW’s president, “With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”
