Private Practice star Taye Diggs is heading to the Fox comedy New Girl, The Hollywood Reporter explains.
Diggs will play a potential romantic distraction for Jess (Zooey Deschanel) from Nick (Jake Johnson). His character Artie has been described as a “smooth, confident ladies man.” He has his eyes set on Jess, which turns into a problem for her new relationship with Nick. Artie will be introduced in the third season’s seventh episode.
In addition to his new role on New Girl, Diggs’ upcoming credits include films Baggage Claim and The Best Man Holiday. He is repped by ICM and Management 360.
