‘SNL’ Sets Dave Chappelle and A Tribe Called Quest for First Post-Election Show

Saturday Night Live has its lineup locked for its first post-election show.

According to Deadline, comedian Dave Chappelle will host the November 12th episode and will be joined by musical guest A Tribe Called Quest.

This is an exciting announcement from NBC and SNL considering that Chappelle has been largely absent from television in recent years since the end of his immensely influential Comedy Central series Chappelle’s Show. On the music side A Tribe Called Quest will soon release their next (and most likely final) album titled “We Got It From Here, Thank You for Your Service”, the group’s first album since 1998.

SNL has been experiencing much needed ratings boost this season considering the show’s slump the last couple of years. The show’s 42nd season keeps picking up steam, with last week’s Tom Hanks and Lady Gaga episode bringing in the highest ratings of the season so far. This is in no small part thanks to knockout performances by Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon as Trump and Clinton.

Benedict Cumberbatch and Solange are set for tonight’s episode of SNL, and the Saturday Night Live Primetime Election Special will air November 7th.
