Ringo Starr Lends Voice To ‘Powerpuff Girls’ Special

The Powerpuff Girls are returning to the small screen for a one-night special in January and Mr. Ringo Starr is offering his voice.

According to Rolling Stone, Starr voices Fibonacci Sequins, a “flamboyant mathematician,” and sings an original song, “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.” The song is accompanied by a music video.

The Powerpuff Girls aired from 1998 to 2005 and followed the adventures of three kindergarten superheroes, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup. They fought crime in Townsville, USA. Their arch-nemesis was Mojo Jojo a demented monkey. The plot for the special centers on Mojo Jojo kidnapping Fibonacci Sequins and creating an evil video game, “Dance Pants R-EVILution,” to steal the elusive Chemical X and rule Townsville.

The special will also feature the core cast from the series. Catherine Cavadini, Tara Strong, Tom Kenny (voice of Spongebob Squarepants), E. G. Daily (recently on The Voice), Tom Kane and Roger L. Jackson will reunite on the special.

The special, “Dance Pantsed,” airs on January 20 at 7:30 p.m. EST on Cartoon Network.
