Netflix’s Stranger Things is set to resume production of season four in Georgia on September 28th, according to Deadline. The date is tentative due the coronavirus and protocols constantly changing.
Netflix suspended production on March 13th due to the coronavirus. Stranger Things had just begun filming the new season. On February 14th, The Duffer brothers (Wayward Pines) revealed the teaser for season four and announced the return of David Harbour’s (Hellboy) character, Hopper. At the end of season 3, it was believed that Hopper was killed in the explosion to blow up the Soviet lab. The teaser shows him working in a prison camp far away from Hawkins, Indiana.
Following the news, on March 3rd a video was posted of the table read that officially started the production of season four.
During the production shut down, the writer’s room utilized their time to finish writing the season. On June 18th, the writers posted a picture of the finished scripts on Twitter. It’s believed that there will be eight episodes in season four.
The show was renewed for a fourth season in September 2019. Stranger Things was created by Matt and Ross Duffer and produced by Monkey Massacre Productions and 21 Laps Entertainment.
A premiere date for the new season has not been revealed.
