Pedro Pascal Has Confirmed That He Only Voices His Character In ‘The Mandalorian’

According to ScreenRant, Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) who is known for being the face underneath the mask in The Mandalorian has officially confirmed that he now only voices the character. The Disney+ and Star Wars exclusive series recently premiered their third season and many fans wondered why Pascal did not remove the helmet as he did in other seasons. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pascal admitted to his role now becoming a voice-over rather than a physical performance due to the physical demands that wearing the bulky armor took on the body.

Pascal stated, “There was an extended amount of experimentation, being in the suit for a lot of it, and frankly, my body wasn’t up for the task as far as, like, the four months of it. But I was in it. I was in it a significant amount, an elastic amount (he pretends to tug at his neck, where the suit would chafe). But now we’ve figured it out, which is super cool, and amazingly, it gave me the opportunity to be able to go and do something else.”

According to Screenrant, Pascal had recently revealed his face in the series in both seasons one and two but not on the latest installment. The series also dropped a plot in which Din Djarin didn’t really change the cult he was in, but he reaffirmed his faith to the Children of the Watch, which means his face is unlikely to be seen again. In the past, Pascal has mentioned how uncomfortable wearing the armor was making his reason to switch to voice-over more understandable.

Five years after the events of Return of The Jedi, The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the creation of the First Order in the Star Wars universe. The story follows a lone gunfighter at the far end of the galaxy far from the rule and authority of the New Republic.

All current seasons of Disney+’s The Mandalorian are available to stream on the platform.
