John Mulaney is Thirty Seven year old American comedian well-known for his skits on Saturday Night Live and for his stand up specials on Netflix, New In Town, The Comeback Kid, and Kid Gorgeous which was filmed at Radio City Music Hall. John also had his own Sitcom called Mulaney that aired on FOX from October 5, 2014 to February 15, 2015. He is also one of the voice actors on Netflix’s animated show Big Mouth. John also has a new children’s show coming to Netflix called ‘John Mulaney & The Sack Lunch Bunch’, below is the official trailer:

From Netflix “Emmy Award Winning Comedian John Mulaney aims to recapture the magic of that bygone television era when children sang songs about their feelings with celebrity guests on funky outdoor sets.”

This show will have fifteen kid actors aged 8 through 13 performing with celebrity adults. They’re joined for musical numbers with David Byrne, Natasha Lyonne, André De Shields, and Jake Gyllenhaal, who plays a performer named Mr. Music. Richard Kind also has a role on a skit in the show, where three tween girls interview him on a chat show called Girl Talk With Richard Kind.

The new series is supposed to be reminiscent of old tv shows with child stars such as The Mickey Mouse Club and The Electric Company. When asked about his new show, John Mulaney said “The result is a collage of Broadway caliber showstoppers, comedy sketches for all ages, meditations on the unknown from children and adults, and a paper mache volcano… It’s funny, musical, joyous, anxious and surprisingly profound.”

John Mulaney’s previous Netflix special, Kid Gorgeous, won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special in 2018. His new series, John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch premiered on December 16th in New York City and will be streaming on Netflix on December 24th.
