Netflix’s ‘The Baby-Sitters Club’ To Premiere Season Two In October

Netflix’s 2020 series based on the book series by Ann M. Martin and Raina Telgemeier, The Baby-Sitters Club, will release its sophomore season to the platform on October 11, according to VarietyThe series follows a group of girls residing in Stoneybrook, Connecticut as they juggle their respective responsibilities with a newly-launched babysitting business.

The series stars Sophia Grace (Terror in the Woods) as Kristy, Malia Baker (Hope at Christmas) as Mary Ann, Momona Tamada (The Main Event) as Claudia, Shay Rudolph (Lethal Weapon) as Stacy, and Kyndra Sanchez (Finding ‘Ohana) as Dawn. Season two will welcome new additions Vivian Watson (The Quaranteens) as Mallory and Anais Lee (The Will) as Jessi. The latter two are one year older than the original bunch and maintain business experience prior to their work in the caregiving service.

“In season two, we really get to see a maturation of the club and of the girls,” creator and showrunner Rachel Shukert (Starstruck) said in a statement. “There are two new members [and] they’re all a year older and have more experience running a business, deeper friendships and are growing into a deeper understanding of themselves as people,” via Variety

She continued, “We also wanted to continue exploring themes that allow young viewers to see themselves represented on screen, while also dealing obliquely with many of the things we’ve all been through in the past year: loss, change, responsibility, and trying to find joy and meaning in unexpected places. I’m so excited for everyone to be back in Stoneybrook and back in business,” via Variety

The Baby-Sitters Club also stars Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), Mark Feuerstein (Royal Pains), and Marc Evan Jackson (The Good Place). The show’s debut season is available to stream on Netflix while fans await the second season’s release date in October.
