Netflix Announces Premiere Date For Final Season Of ‘The Umbrella Academy’

According to Deadline, Netflix has announced the fourth season of The Umbrella Academy will debut this summer on Aug. 8th. Season four is set to be the final season of the series.

According to Deadline, Steve Blackman (Fargo, Bones) will be continuing his role as the executive producer and showrunner for the final season of the series.

The show is based off of the comic book series created by Gerard Way (Doom Patrol, Pancake Mountain) and produced by the Universal Studio Group for Netflix.

The Umbrella Academy debuted in 2019 and immediately became one of the platforms most popular shows. The series was in Netflix’s top three original shows of the year. Season three debuted in 2022 at number one on Netflix’s top ten, spending five total weeks on the list with 124.5M hours viewed.

The returning cast members are Ritu Arya (Barbie, Red Notice), David Castañeda (Switched at Birth, Sicario: Day of the Soldado), David Cross (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Mr. Show with Bob and David), Colm Feore (Thor, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), Aidan Gallagher (Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn, Modern Family), Tom Hopper (Game of Thrones, Black Sails), Justin H. Min (After Yang, Beef), Megan Mullally (Will & Grace, Bob’s Burgers), Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, The Last of Us), Elliot Page (Whip It, Inception), Emmy Raver-Lampman (Central Park, Dog) and Robert Sheehan (The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, Misfits).

The executive producers for the series are Beau Bauman (Cry Wolf, Central Intelligence), Blackman, Jennifer Cecil (One Tree Hill, Private Practice), Keith Goldberg (The Legend of Tarzan, Resident Alien), Jesse McKeown (The Romeo Section, Da Vinci’s Inquest), Abbey Morris (American Odyssey, The Killing), Mike Richardson (Weaponized with Jeremy Corbell & George Knapp, Resident Alien), Scott Stuber (Ted, Patriots Day), Pascal Verschooris (The Vampire DiariesDynasty) and Jeremy Webb (The Last of Us, Downton Abbey). The series is co-executive produced by Gabriel Bá (Casanova, Daytripper) and Way.
