NBC Teases ‘Will & Grace’ Revival With New Trailer

Ahead of Monday’s Upfront presentation at Radio City Music Hall, NBC welcomed the Will & Grace cast to the stage to perform a musical number, suggesting the possibility for a Will & Grace turned musical-esque episode in the near future.

Instead, Variety has confirmed that NBC just released an official trailer promoting the show’s revival with the suspect musical number in place, setting a premiere for this Fall. In the trailer, Will (Eric McCormack) & Grace (Debra Messing) proceed to walk out of the NBC office where Will agrees to return to the show, while Grace, initially not so keen on the idea is crusaded after Will directs her to their old production set, reducing her to tears, whereby characters Karen (Megan Mullally) and Jack (Sean Hayes) make an appearance.

“Yes, a world to rediscover, in a sitcom sized apartment, we could never afford,” Will convinces Grace in song. “Still love our booze and codeine pairing, and I still hate what she’s wearing, why everything’s as if, we never said goodbye,” Karen chimes in.

Will & Grace will return to TV this Fall on NBC, with 12 new episodes including a Christmas special, Robert Greenblatt, chairman, NBC Entertainment announced at Monday’s Upfront presentation, giving the show an 8 p.m. time slot, and adding, “If this works we are going to want more,” said Greenblatt.

mxdwn recently reported on NBC’s Fall lineup. Greenblatt also announced several shows are moving around the schedule, along with new shows making a fall debut, including The Brave, Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, and new dramas: Rise, Reverie and Good Girls. Rounding out the evenings announcements of new shows, returning shows and changes to scheduling, Greenblatt wants to focus on branding the network to a newer generation, saying, “This is as close to must-see TV as we ever had in our history.”

The sitcom originally ran from 1998-2006 featuring some of cable TV’s first gay characters. The show will see Will (McCormack), and best friend Grace (Messing) reprise their roles alongside Jack (Hayes) and Karen (Mullally).
