The social distancing comedy series Connecting is being pulled from the NBC schedule, as announced Monday, according to Variety. The final four episodes of the series will be aired on the newly launched streaming service Peaock and NBC.com.
Connecting, which followed a group of friends attempting to remain connected during a pandemic, debuted on NBC in the beginning of October. Although it maintained a comedic take on the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it struggled in viewership, averaging a 0.4 rating in adults ranging from 18-49 and 2.1 million viewers per episode. The series stars Otmara Marrero (Clementine), Preacher Lawson (Tournament of Laughs), Shakina Nayfack (Difficult People), and Jill Knox (My Name is David). The series was created and executive produced by Martin Gero (Blindspot) and Brendan Gall (Blindspot).
Gero and Gall reunited after collaborating on the NBC series Blindspot, as creator and executive producer as well. The show has recently concluded with their fifth season.
Connecting joined the list of TV shows and films ordered which were based on the pandemic. Netflix gave series order to the anthology series Social Distance while Freeform ordered the show Love in the Time of Corona.
