Deadline reported that NBC has revealed fall premiere dates for its returning comedy, drama, and reality shows alongside a set of upcoming new series that will make their debut in the cooler months. While the slate mirrors what had been released prior to its May upfront, the network seems to have more on its way when summer departs.
Per Deadline, the drama show trio of One Chicago will hold over Wednesday nights with Law & Order joined by NBC’s new reality competition spinoff The Traitors: New Blood (premiering September 17) on Thursdays. Newcoming comedy Newlyweds at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays will air before Dateline NBC and after Happy’s Place season three, starring Téa Leoni (Madam Secretary, Only Murders in the Building) and Tim Daly (The Fugitive, The Game) and premiering in late October.
Continuing, Monday nights from 10-11 p.m. will contain Line of Fire, premiering in late September behind new seasons of The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins, St. Denis Medical, and The Voice. New series Sunset P.I and The Rockford Files are set to launch in the winter that follows – February and January, respectively.
On top of these highly anticipated series returns and premieres, Deadline reports that fall with NBC will feature its signature Sunday Night Football, preempting with the season-kickoff game on Wednesday, September 9, and continuing the following Sunday.
mxdwn reported prior on announcements from NBC about series renewals for the 2026-2027 season. At the time, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit was reported as renewed for its 28th and 29th seasons, while series such as Stumble and Brilliant Minds were anticipated to be on the chopping block. The latter two series were later announced as canceled. The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins seems to have escaped the knife’s edge, however, with a second season this fall, despite not being a breakout hit with audiences.
