NBC Developing Zachary Levi-Produced Series ‘Unidentified’

NBC is teaming up with Chuck for a new TV show.

Deadline reports that the network is currently developing Unidentified, an hour-long sci-fi thriller written by Sean Finegan (Free Fall).

Universal Television and Zachary Levi’s (ChuckTangledHeroes: Reborn) Middle Man Productions are producing the series, with Levi, Finegan, Turi Meyer, Al Septein, Justin Allen, and Erik Olson executive producing. Levi, Meyer, and Septein will serve as showrunners on the series.

Unidentified is a sci-fi/crime series that follows a CIA agent as he tries to keep his family safe from a horrible secret.

The Levi-produced Unidentified falls under the umbrella of Levi’s first-look Universal TV deal from last year, which was solidified shortly after his stint on Heroes: Reborn.

There is very little information on the series so far, and the big question would be if Levi would star or have a part in the series. Levi is mainly known for his roles in front of the camera for television, like Chuck and Less Than Perfect, but he also has experience behind the scenes. Levi, along now with Unidentified, has produced and hosted the Syfy series Geeks Who Drink, and also produced/starred in the thriller Sprial. Of the few projects Levi has produced so far, it seems he has appeared in them as well which means there may be hope of seeing him in Unidentified.

Levi is also currently set to star in the Netlix and CBC six-part mini-series Alias Grace with Anna Paquin and Sarah Gadon, which is inspired by Margaret Atwood’s novel about the true story of convicted murderer Grace Marks. He also recently appeared in the Eva Longoria NBC sitcom Telenovela as Longoria’s love interest.
