Prime Video’s upcoming series Bloodaxe hasn’t premiered yet, and Prime Video has already released characters for its second season. Prime Video shared several new cast members joining the series for its second season.
Bloodaxe is gaining much buzz, even before its first season’s debut. The series follows the notorious Norse raider Erik Bloodaxe, played by Xavier Molyneux (Neighbours, Last Day of Space Age), and his wife, Mother of Kings Gunnhild Bloodaxe, played by Jessica Madsen (Leatherface, Dark Light).
Season one of Bloodaxe will depict the pair’s battle for control of the Norwegian throne during a period of political unrest. As competing factions form and alliances shift, violence and betrayal threaten to tear the kingdom apart. Their struggle also draws the attention of powerful rulers across Scandinavia and England, laying the groundwork for an epic new Norse saga filled with war, ambition, and political intrigue.
Filming has already begun in Ireland for the second season of the series.
Gard Løkke (Good Boy, The Touch Guys) will be joining as a series regular and is represented by The Artists Partnership in the UK and Global Ensemble in Norway & Sweden.
Melina Åkerman (Succedera Questa Notte, Granite Harbour) will be starring in recurring roles and is represented by Independent Talent and Actors in Scandinavia.
Kieran Bew (Beowulf: Return to the Shieldlands, House of the Dragon) will be starring in recurring roles and is represented by Markham, Froggatt & Irwin.
Sebastian Bull (Si’r det bar’, Azrael) will star in recurring roles and is represented internationally by Subtitle Talent Agency and in Denmark by Charles&Ryaa Agency.
George Burgess (Beast, The Weight) will be starring in recurring roles and is represented by Anthony Kidd at Benchmark Creative Management and John Tynan at Untitled Entertainment in the US.
Michael Hirst (Billy the Kid, Vikings: Valhalla) and Horatio Hirst (Billy the Kid, Vikings: Valhalla) created the series and also showrun, write, and executive produce Bloodaxe. They work alongside fellow executive producers Arturo Interian (Hotel Cocaine, Vikings), John Weber (The Westies, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds), Sheila Hockin (The Testaments, The Handmaid’s Tale), Steve Stark under his Toluca Pictures Label, and Morgan O’Sullivan (Inside I’m Dancing, A Shine of Rainbows) under his O’Sullivan Productions label. MGM Television produces Bloodaxe.
Prime Video has not yet announced a premiere date for Bloodaxe.
