NBC Announces Fall Premiere Dates for ‘Blindspot,’ ‘The Good Place,’ ‘This Is Us’ and Others

Nearly a month after showcasing their fall schedule and feeling confident about their fall shows, NBC is the first of the major networks to announce the premiere dates for their fall shows, according to Variety.

Blindspot kicks off NBC’s 2016-2017 season with the second season kicking off on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m., allowing it to follow the season finale of America’s Got Talent. From there, the show will occupy its new Wednesday at 8 p.m. timeslot starting on Sept. 21.

The 11th season of The Voice, with new coaches Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys, will premiere on Monday, Sept. 19. The Good Place, NBC’s new comedy from Mike Schur that stars Kristen Bell and Ted Danson, will get the coveted post-Voice spot to help gain viewers for the new show and will air two back-to-back episodes at 10 p.m. The Good Place will then shift to its fall timeslot the following Thursday (Sept. 22) at 8:30 p.m.

This Is Us, whose trailer went viral on social media, will first premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 10 p.m. following The Voice. The show will continue to air in that timeslot until The Voice finishes auditions and then will air Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. starting on Oct. 11.

In addition to Blindspot airing on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m., Law and Order: Special Victims Unit will have its 18th season premiere on Sept. 21 at 9 p.m. and Chicago P.D.‘s fourth season will premiere the same day at 10 p.m. SVU and Chicago P.D. have the same timeslots they had in the last season.

Superstore, the unexpected hit comedy for NBC, has its second season premiere on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 8 p.m. and The Good Place premieres in its 8:30 p.m. timeslot that same day. Chicago Med will have its second season premiere the same day in its new 9 p.m. timeslot and The Blacklist will have its fourth season premiere at 10 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 23 will have the premieres of Caught on Camera with Nick Cannon at 8 p.m. and Dateline NBC will premiere at 9 p.m. and will be two hours.

Monday, Oct. 3 marks the series premiere of Timeless, NBC’s third new show airing in the fall. The show will air at 10 p.m., following The Voice.

With This Is Us making its 9 p.m. timeslot premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 11, Chicago Fire will premiere for its fifth season on Oct. 11 at 10 p.m.

With NBC broadcasting the 2016 Olympics across its networks, executives are sure to be heavily publicizing their new and returning shows during commercials as a way to make sure their shows will be successful.
