‘Mystery Science Theater 3000’ Reboot Finds Home At Netflix

Mystery Science Theater 3000 has officially found a home for its crappy B-movie viewing and heckling.

Variety reports that the Kickstarted reboot of MST3K has landed at Netflix. Patton Oswalt, Felicia Day, Hampton Yount and Baron Vaughn are set to star in the series along with new host Jonah Ray. Original MST3K cast members Bill Corbett (Brain Guy), Kevin Murphy (Professor Bobo) and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester) are returning to the series as well.

Behind the scenes, both Dan Harmon and Joel McHale will join Corbett and Jo Pehl on the writing staff along with head writer Elliot KalanMST3K creator Joel Hodgson is joined as executive producer by Kalan, Richard Foos, Bob Emmer, Garson Foos, Jonathan Stern and Harold Bucholz.

Hodgson’s MST3K originally premiered on KTMA in Minnesota in 1988 before being aired on Comedy Central for seven seasons. The series was then revived at Syfy for three seasons in the late ’90s before being canceled. The show’s Kickstarter campaign raised over $5.7 million.
