‘Modern Family’ and ‘Survivor’ Top Wednesday Night Ratings

While Modern Family topped all Wednesday night’s shows, American Idol pulled out the win for FOX.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that despite dipping three-tenths of a point from the previous week’s ratings, American Idol averaged a 2.4 rating in the key demo of adults 18-49. With an average of 10.1 million viewers, Fox came in a close second behind CBS for Wednesday night’s biggest audience.

Survivor brought in a 2.5 rating in the key demo, up a tenth of a point from last week, while Criminal Minds fell three-tenths of a point to a 2.3 rating and CSI picked up three-tenths to pull out a 2.0 rating in the key demo. CBS posted a 2.3 rating and 10.2 million viewers for Wednesday night.

ABC showed an overall dip in its ratings. The Middle kept its 1.9 rating and Modern Family only fell a tenth of a point to a 3.3 rating. Suburgatory dropped three-tenths of a point to a 1.4 rating, Mixology fell two-teths to a 1.5 rating and Nashville fell a tenth of a point to a 1.4 rating. ABC brought in a 1.8 rating with adults under 50 and 5.9 million viewers.

NBC saw success in its Wednesday night shows, with Revolution and Law & Order: SVU keeping their previous week’s scores of 1.3 and 1.6 ratings. Chicago P.D. improved by a tenth of a point to a 1.6 rating, giving NBC a 1.5 demo rating and 5.6 million viewers for the night.
