Jesse Rath to Become a Series Regular on ‘Supergirl’

When Jesse Rath returns to season four of CW’s Supergirl as Brainiac-5 (Brainy), it will be as a series regular. Brainy is a half computer and half organic life form that has a twelve level intellect. He is a member of the Legion of Super Heroes that goes back in time to Nation City from the 31st century. In season three of the series Rath appeared in five episodes.

As of now, it is hard to know what will happen and what role Brainy will have in the next season. Some think that Supergirl will go to the future. This theory comes from Brainy saying in the trailer for Monday’s finale, “the future needs heroes.” According to Comicbook.com, Brainy has become a fan favorite. This is partly because Rath communicates in such a humorous and ironic way.

Executive producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said, “We love the character of Brainiac 5 and can’t imagine anyone but Jesse Rath in the role. He brings such fun, heart and brilliance to Brainy and we’re so excited he’s joining the cast as a series regular for season 4. We have a lot of great Brainy stories to tell.”

Rath has worked on other shows such as: CW’s No Tomorrow and Syfy’s Defiance. The finale of season three will air this coming Monday on June 18th.
