Janet Montgomery Nabs Leading Role on ‘Salem’

The twenty-eight year old actress has landed the leading role on Salem, an upcoming show for next season.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that the Made in Jersey actress just landed the leading role on Salem, the first original scripted series of WGN America, expected to air next season.

Montgomery will play Mary Sibley, a “beautiful [woman], radiating confidence and power with a hidden sexuality.” She’ is married to a very wealthy, though ailing, man named George, one of the “Selectmen” of Salem, the town in which they live.

Other cast members include Xander Berkeley (Nikita) as Magistrate Hale, a politician; Ashley Madekwe (Revenge) and Seth Gabel (Fringe).

Salem will be written and executive produced by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon. It is scheduled to premiere on WGN America in the Summer 2014.
