‘Invincible’ Season Two To Premiere Late 2023 ; Amazon Prime Video Reveals Teaser

Fans of the hit animated superhero series Invincible have been eagerly awaiting news of a second season, and they won’t have to wait much longer. Variety writes that Amazon Prime Video has just announced that the show will return in late 2023, with a teaser featuring main characters Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun, The Walking Dead, Mayhem) and Allen the Alien (Seth Rogen, Neighbors, Knocked Up) discussing the upcoming episodes.

The series is based on the Image Comics of the same name by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. Skybound, the production company behind the series, has Kirkman, Simon Racioppa (The Shadow of Bill, Spliced), David Alpert (Air, Powers), and Catherine Winder (Ice Age, The Angry Birds Movie) as executive producers. Jeff Allen (Avengers Assemble) is the supervising director and Linda Lamontagne (Ultra City Smiths) is the casting director. The comic book series Invincible ended in February 2018 after 15 years of publication.

The series follows 17-year-old Mark, who is just like any other teenager except for the fact that his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet. As Mark develops powers of his own, he discovers that his father’s legacy may not be as heroic as it seems.

Alongside Yeun and Rogen, the cast also features Sandra Oh (Grey’s Anatomy, The Chair), Gillian Jacobs (Love, Community), Andrew Rannells (The New Normal, Black Monday), Zazie Beetz (Atlanta, Joker), Mark Hamill (Return of the Jedi, The Empire Strikes Back) , Walton Goggins (Fatman, The Unicorn), Jason Mantzoukas (The League, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Zachary Quinto (Star Trek, Margin Call), Mahershala Ali (Blade, Green Book), Melise (The Vampire Diaries, Star-Crossed), Kevin Michael Richardson (The Cleveland Show, Teen Titans), Grey Griffin (The Fairly OddParents) and Khary Payton (The Walking Dead, Teen Titans Go!), as well as others.

The first season of Invincible premiered in March 2021 and received wide popularity and critical acclaim. Variety praised the performances, saying “What both anchors and keeps Invincible compelling is its cast, packed to the brim with talent.” The show was immediately renewed for a second and third season at Amazon.

The second season of Invincible promises to be just as action-packed and thrilling as the first, so mark your calendars for its return in late 2023. In the meantime, check out the teaser below to get a taste of what’s to come.
