HBO’s ‘Succession’ Announces October Premiere Date for Season Three

The HBO original hit family drama, Succession, has followed up on the reveal of its third season teaser trailer with an October premiere date, according to CNN. In a tweet from the show’s official account, it demonstrates actor Brian Cox (Super Troopers, Troy), who portrays the billionaire patriarch Logan Roy in the series, with a tag of October. Unfortunately, the post does not specify a singular date for the premiere of its first episode of the third season, yet it has many Succession fans buzzing to absorb the next volume of ten episodes of the premium cable program.

Succession is created by Jesse Armstrong (Peep Show) and has released two ten-episode seasons for HBO following its premiere in 2018. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production for the third season witnessed various delays in 2020, but, following the trailer drop and the release date post, Succession appears to be right on track to providing its next installment after resuming production in November 2020

Succession follows the wealthy Roy family that owns and operates the Disney-like Waystar RoyCo. The series centers on the decline of Cox’s Logan in health while his children and subsequent in-laws begin fighting for the throne of the family. The series cast includes Nicholas Braun (Sky High), as Greg Hirsch, Kieran Culkin (Igby Goes Down) as Roman Roy, Hiam Abbas (Red Satin) as Marcia Roy, Matthew Macfadyen (Frost/Nixon) as Tom Wambsgans, Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) as Connor Roy, Sarah Snook, (Steve Jobs) as Shiv Roy, Peter Friedman (High Maintenance) as Frank Vernon, Jeremy Strong (The Big Short) as Kendall Roy, and many more.

New additions to the season three cast include Hope Davis (Captain America: Civil War), Ella Rumpf (Tiger Girl), Linda Emond (Death of Salesman), singer Jihae Kim (Mars), Dasha Nekrasova (Red Scare), Adrien Brody (The Pianist), and Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood).
