HBO’s ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ To Feature a Returning Richard Lewis

The HBO original comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm will feature the returning guest star and comedian Richard Lewis in an upcoming episode, according to Deadline. After being absent for most of the series production on the 11th season, Lewis returned to the HBO set with a declaration of his casting for a singular future episode on the series. This news follows Lewis publicly announcing his health problems that included the likes of shoulder surgeries and back surgery. Lewis revealed his return to the series via his Twitter account which can be viewed below:

Curb Your Enthusiasm comes from creator Larry David (Seinfeld), who portrays a fictionalized version of himself on the show, that happens to interact with various Hollywood stars as a former successful television writer in the City of Angels. The series first premiered as a special in 2000 before running for eight seasons through 2011. However, the series has now returned for two seasons in 2017 and 2020, both comprising ten episodes apiece. The series features David alongside Jeff Garlin’s (The Goldbergs) Jeff Greene, Susie Essman (Broad City), Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), and J.B. Smoove (Saturday Night Live) in its main cast. Additionally, the series includes various, well-known guest stars that portray fictionalized versions of themselves throughout the program’s run which includes Lewis.

Lewis has been one of the most frequent guest stars on the series, appearing in 39 episodes out of the 100 as his fictional self. Despite missing time shooting for the upcoming 11th season, Lewis will make his triumphant return in an unknown episode, yet he will not be portraying himself due to the ongoing health problems that the actor and comedian faces.

It is unclear when production will wrap up for the series following its renewal in June 2020.
