Diddy in Consideration for Cameo on ‘Downton Abbey’

Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes says he would not turn down Diddy for a cameo on the PBS series.

This past May, rapper Diddy did a spoof of Downton Abbey with comedy producing Funny or Die, entitled Downton Diddy. He played the role of new owner Lord Wolcott. Fellowes saw the parody and according to the Telegraph, said, “I loved that, I thought it was fabulous… I absolutely adored it…”

USA Today noted that if the cameo were to happen, Diddy would not be the only African-American character on Downton Abbey. It was recently announced that Gary Carr will play the role of Jack Ross, a jazz singer, in the new season. In addition to Carr, Paul Giamatti will guest star on the series as well.

In addition to Diddy’s successful career as a rapper and music producer, he has acted in many movies and television series, including Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Hawaii Five-O, CSI: Miami, and the comedy movie “Get Him to the Greek”, as noted by IMDB.

PBS will air the fourth season of Downton Abbey starting January 5.
