Cozy Up with a Whodunnit: “Only Murders in the Building” Makes its ABC Debut!

Only Murders in the Building, the hit comedy-mystery TV series, follows the perspective of a trio of amataur seluth podcasters portrayed by Martin Short(Three Amigos), Steve Martin(Cheaper by the Dozen), and Selena Gomez(Wizard of Waverly Place), in which, they try to solve murder case arising in the hotel. The series first made its debut on Hulu on August 21, 2021, and had successful runs and approval rating from the audience. According to Comicbook, the hit series is now being broadcast on ABC, and will air all episodes from all three seasons. Hulu has just announced the series is continuing for a fourth season.

The series has been acclaimed for it blend of comedic approach within the crime fiction, and the connection between characters.  According to Comicbook, the move from Hulu to ABC has change the rating of the show from being TV-MA to TV-14, in which some contents will be edited out. While the show’s core themes and sensibilities are expected to remain intact, the network platform offers new possibilities for storytelling and reaching a broader demographic.

In accordance with Comicbook, the scheduled times and dates for the entirety of season one has been confirmed. Episodes of the first season will be released in batches throughout the next three weeks. Martin, Short, and Gomez are sure to reprise their roles in the fourth season, as well introducing past and new members.

Overall, fans are now able to revisit the thrilling mystery from the acclaimed show, and to refresh their memory for when the rumored upcoming season is out. The change of channels gives a chance for new viewers to view it. Hulu announced the fourth season back in October 2023, and while there is no confirmed release date, the news is leaving the fans on the edge of their seats.
