Charles Melton Gives Credit To The CW’s ‘Riverdale’ For Preparing Him For His Role In ‘May December’

According to Comicbook, recently actor Charles Melton (Bad Boys for Life) stated that the intense production schedule in CW’s Riverdale provided him with type of acting school experience that helped him prepare for other roles. With the year coming to an end the Oscars is right around the corner Melton was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in Todd Haynes’ (The Velvet Underground) May December. Melton spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the experience of the series portraying the frenemy  Reggie Mantle, and how it had a vast impact on him but also prepared him for the role of Joe Yoo in May December

Meltdown said, “Ten months out of the year, 22 episodes, eight to 10 days to film one episode.… That’s a lot of work in a short amount of time, and it really took everybody on set to come together to execute this process. That experience alone, and working with nearly 100 directors on that show, really gave me this confidence and this foundation — as, like, my acting school in a way — to really be able to come to a set like Todd Haynes’ and just completely let go.”

Below is an Instagram post from Melton’s account counting down one of the last few times he would be playing Reggie on Riverdale.
