According to Deadline, Lily Collins’ (Love, Rosie, Mirror Mirror) Emily is meeting a fellow American expat in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix’s hit comedy Emily In Paris. Bryan Greenberg (Suits LA, Prime) joined the cast as recurring, and he is playing Jake, an American living in Paris. Also recurring in Season Five is French actress Michèle Laroque (Better Days, The Kids are Back), playing Yvette, an old friend of Sylvie’s (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, known for Two Brothers and Surprise Party). Jake and Yvette are two of the three known new recurring characters along with previously announced Princess Jane, who is played by Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting, Tarzan).
Paul Forman (Riches, Frank of Ireland), recurring since Season Three as Mindy’s love interest Nico, businessman, and heir, and Arnaud Binard (À l’aventure, ID: A), recurring character since Season Two as Sylvie’s husband Laurent G., are confirmed to return for Season Five, Deadline states.
Considering Nico’s tragic breakup with Mindy, played by Ashley Park (Joy Ride, Mean Girls), at the end of Season Four, his return is interesting. Adding on to their business issues, Laurent G and Sylvie must navigate her recent fling with an old flame in Rome, Deadline adds.
The Emily In Paris Season Five cast that has been already confirmed includes Collins playing Emily Cooper, Leroy-Beaulieu playing Sylvie Grateau, Park playing Mindy Chen, Lucas Bravo (Freedom, The Balconettes) playing Gabriel, Bruno Gouery (The White Lotus, Family Pack) playing Luc, and Samuel Arnold (Nolan’s Treasure, The Red Painting) playing Julien. Additionally, William Abadie (The Pink Panther, My Sassy Girl) is playing Antoine Lambert, Lucien Laviscount (Snatch, The Bye Bye Man) is playing Alfie, Eugenio Franceschini (Weekend, Reckless) is playing Marcello, and Thalia Besson (When I’m Ready, Dangerous Waters) is playing Genevieve, via Deadline.
Jake is joining Emily and Genevieve, who was introduced last season, as the third major American character on the show next season, which is the most Emily In Paris has ever had at once, Deadline notes.
The series is currently filming in Paris after four weeks in Rome and Season 5 of Emily In Paris will premiere globally on Netflix in 2025. Darren Star (90210, Sex and the City), the series creator, told Deadline last week, “I think we’ve got a really terrific season coming up.”
Star executive produces with Lilly Burns (Cypher, Wedding Season), Stephen Brown (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Escape the Night), Tony Hernandez (Younger, Russian Doll), Robin Schiff (Almost Perfect, Grosse Pointe), Andrew Fleming (Barefoot, The Craft), Grant Sloss (Younger, Vicious Mannies), Alison Brown (Younger, Stuck in the Middle), and Joe Murphy (Younger, Bored, Game?). The series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Jax Media, and Darren Star Productions, as mentioned by Deadline.
