Bradley Whitford Cast in ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ for Season 2

Easily one of the most anticipated series of this year is season 2 of The Handmaid’s Tale. Hulu has kept a majority of details about its acclaimed drama under wraps, meaning fans have little to go on as they speculate what could happen next. But according to The Hollywood Reporter, a new development has been made with the show’s production.

Bradley Whitford has been cast in The Handmaid’s Tale season 2, hinting at the appearance of a new major player in the narrative. Whitford’s role is unknown in this point in time, but considering the actor’s impressive past work, his character will be an exciting one to watch.

The actor is best known for his television work on series such as West Wing, Transparent, and Happyish. Recently, Whitford has appeared in a number of acclaimed films like The Post and Get Out.

The Handmaid’s Tale stars Elizabeth Moss as Offred, a handmaid who lives under an extremely oppressive society and is forced into the life of a concubine. Lauded for its social relevance and searing political messages, the series has become Hulu’s most successful original series. The Handmaid’s Tale was named as the #1 show of 2017 by mxdwn’s television team.

The Handmaid’s Tale season 2 will return April 25th on Hulu.
