Another ‘WandaVision’ Deleted Scene Revealed; Could Foreshadow What’s to Come in Spinoff ‘Agatha: Darkhold Diaries’

A recently unveiled deleted scene from Marvel and Disney+’s WandaVision introduced an element of uncertainty regarding the potential direction of the show’s spinoff, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries. Via Comicbook, the newly shared clip occurs towards the conclusion of the season, looking as if it could be the final scene of the entire series. In the scene, an officer approaches the antagonist, Agatha Harkness played by Kathryn Hahn (Don’t Worry Darling), inquiring about her well-being. Agatha responds flirtatiously, cuing a response from a laugh track. The inclusion of the laugh track outside of Wanda’s personally constructed reality raises the possibility of a similar show format in the spinoff to WandaVision.

After the death of Vision, played by Paul Bettany (Legion), in Avengers: Infinity War, Wanda Maximoff, played by Elizabeth Olsen (Oldboy), is overwhelmed by grief and seizes control of Vision’s body, an entire New Jersey town, and its citizens, desperate to create a reality where she can live the life she’s always wanted with her husband. Vision is only able to survive in Wanda’s bubble due to her magic. Agatha, operating under the alias Agnes within Wanda’s town, is able to avoid being mind-controlled like other citizens due to her own magic abilities. Agatha plays the part of a mind-controlled citizen, leaning into her character as the nosy neighbor to learn more about Wanda. Agatha orchestrates events behind Wanda’s back such as hijacking one of the already mind-controlled townspeople, Ralph Bohner played by Evan Peters (Mare of Easttown), and has him play the part of Pietro Maximoff, Wanda’s brother. Agatha uses Ralph as a spy. After Agatha reveals herself as a powerful witch, she battles Wanda for her magic.

Due to be released in 2024, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, previously titled Agatha: House of Harkness, will follow Agatha succeeding the events in WandaVision. According to Screenrant, characters from WandaVision including Kate Forbes (The Longest Ride) as Agatha’s mother, Debra Jo Rupp (That ‘70’s Show) as Mrs Hart, Emma Caulfeld (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Dottie Jones, and more will make their return in the spinoff series.

The new WandaVision deleted scene is the second to be released to fans following the show’s finale in 2021. Below is the short scene posted to X by the verified account, Scarlet Witch Updates.
