After spending some time away from the series, actress Emma Roberts (Unfabulous, Nancy Drew) will be making a return to American Horror Story for its twelfth season, according to ComicBook. In addition to Roberts’ highly anticipated return, it has been confirmed that reality star Kim Kardashian (Disaster Movie, Drop Dead Diva) has also joined the cast for the twelfth season of American Horror Story.
Both actresses posted a short teaser trailer that showcased a bizarre version of “Rock-a-bye, Baby” playing as their names are shown with words that spell out that the actresses “are delicate,” accompanied by a voice whispering, “Emma and Kim are delicate,” for the upcoming season of American Horror Story, according to CNN.
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” co-creator of the American Horror Story franchise Ryan Murphy (Glee, Nip/Tuck) told The Hollywood Reporter. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer (You Can Count on Me, The Messenger) has written a fun, stylish, and ultimately terrifying role, especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming installment of American Horror Story, titled Delicate, takes inspiration from Danielle Valentine’s upcoming thriller novel, Delicate Condition, which is set to be released in August. The novel’s plot revolves around a woman who suspects that someone is trying to prevent her from getting pregnant.
In season three’s Coven storyline, Roberts made her debut in the television series American Horror Story and went on to return for seasons four, seven, and eight. Although the success of the show has led to a spinoff titled American Horror Stories, Roberts’ absence from the franchise was partially due to her role in Murphy’s television series Scream Queens, according to ComicBook.
